Stepping beyond their comfort zones, pitching tents under open skies, and preparing meals with their own hands, our students experienced moments where confidence was strengthened and independence took root. On 21–22 November 2025, the programme became a journey of challenge, teamwork, and self-discovery, where every test of courage and moment of perseverance reflected their readiness to take on real-life adventures. On 23rd November 2025, our boarding students embraced a day of teamwork and adventure as they took on the “Stronger Together” Adventure and Team Spirit at Borneo Happy Farm. The visit brought students through an exciting obstacle course team challenge, followed by an engaging guided walk around the farm where they explored nature, strengthened friendships, and built meaningful connections. Designed to nurture leadership, communication, and resilience, the activities encouraged students to support one another, overcome physical challenges, and grow in confidence. The energy, laughter, and unity displayed throughout the day truly reflected the spirit of YSISS and our commitment to holistic development. On 24 November 2025, YSISS Sibu was proud to organise a Poster Competition with the theme "Sarawak Culture" in conjunction with the “Minggu Bahasa Melayu dan Sejarah". Our MPH Hall was filled with colour and creativity as lower secondary students from SMK Methodist, SMK Chung Hua, SMK Tung Hua and other schools across Sibu came together, beautifully dressed in their traditional attire. The event was a brilliant showcase of our students' incredible talent, transforming meaningful cultural themes into powerful works of art. A heartfelt thank you to all the participating schools for joining us and making the event so lively! ![]()

From 27–31 October 2025, YSISS Sibu hosted Science and Art Week (SnA Week), a week-long programme designed to highlight the integration of creativity and logic under the theme “The Science in Art and the Art in Science.” The event emphasised the interconnectedness of science and art, offering students meaningful opportunities to explore how these disciplines complemented one another. It provided a memorable learning experience that fostered curiosity, innovation, and creative exploration.![]()
📌 Highlights of the week included:
🏫 Visit to University Technology Sarawak — Students engaged in STEAM-related activities, gaining exposure to real-world applications and a glimpse of future learning pathways.
🪐 Sculpting in Science: Space and Universe Edition — Students created sculptures of planets and the solar system, blending scientific understanding with artistic imagination
🔍 YSISS Sibu Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) — A puzzle-based challenge that required students to solve clues across multiple stations.
🧠 Science & Art Quiz Showdown — A competitive yet collaborative activity designed to test knowledge and promote teamwork.
🎨 Art Workshop: Negative & Positive Space Printmaking — A hands-on session that introduced students to printmaking techniques and creative visual expression.![]()
