Yayasan Sarawak International Secondary School Petra Jaya recently hosted a fruitful Sejarah Day Programme on 16 July 2024. The programme aimed to promote cross-cultural awareness and understanding on significant historical events, figures and periods. Yayasan Sarawak International Secondary School Petra Jaya hosted a vibrant Gawai Educational Programme last 27 June 2024, showcasing a wide range of engaging and educational activities.The Traditional Dance Competition and Gawai Beauty Pageant were some of the highlights depicting the rich culture diversity. Other activities include Gawai Workshops for traditional art, craft and music, ethnic languages and cooking demos. We were honoured to host Mr Rod Smith, Group Managing Director of Cambridge University Press & Assessment, last Thursday and Friday, 6-7 June 2024. Mr Smith visited both YSISS Petra Jaya and Kuching campuses, accompanied by Cambridge colleagues Dr. Ben Schmidt (Global Director), Kanjna Paranthaman (Regional Director of SEA & Pacific) and Mr. Ng Kim Huat (Country Director of Malaysia and Brunei). Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jawong, Chairman of Yayasan Sarawak International Education Sdn Bhd, shared YSISS's mission and purpose, followed by a school presentation from Mr Jimali Sunang, Principal of YSISS Kuching, and Ms Frances Tan, Deputy Principal of YSISS Petra Jaya.Cambridge was impressed with the state's efforts to make quality international education more accessible and equitable for all Sarawakians.
