We are proud to announce YSISS Kuching’s achievement at the YIC Championships – State Maker Fair on 16 August 2025. Although this was our first participation, every team we sent brought home a medal:![]()

On 21st August, YSISSPJ proudly sent four teams to our very first Swinburne Sarawak Inter-School Debate Championship (SSIDC) held at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak. Out of 94 teams and 282 debaters, three of our teams advanced to the Octofinals (Top 16), while one senior team reached the Top 8 and also received the Most Promising Senior Team Award 🏆👏. Our debaters had the opportunity to compete against renowned schools such as IPEKA IC School Jakarta, British School Jakarta, Kolej Yayasan Saad Melaka, Sabah Tshung Tsin, St. Joseph Private Schools, Lodge, SMK Lutong Miri, and several government schools. This memorable achievement not only showcased their debating talent but also strengthened their skills in teamwork, critical thinking, and confidence, making us truly proud of their performance and representation of YSISSPJ.
The Sarawak Microelectronics Design (SMD) IC Design Make-a-thon was a three-day competition held from 21–23 August at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak. It brought together secondary school and university students to learn and practice circuit and IC design with guidance from industry mentors. During the event, participants worked on ideas, built prototypes, and presented their projects, with the main challenge focusing on creating a heart-rate monitoring system . Students Freddy Ching Jing Xian and Sumphineo Siew Cheng Sheng took part in the competition, where they designed, tested, and presented their project. Through this experience, they improved their problem-solving and teamwork skills while gaining practical knowledge in engineering and technology.

YSISSPJ is proud to share that our team has won the 𝐷𝑒𝑏𝑎𝑡 𝑃𝑒𝑟𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑎 𝑃𝑖𝑎𝑙𝑎 𝐷𝑎𝑡𝑢𝑘 𝐵𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑟, held on 27 August 2025. Competing against 12 schools, the team showed great skill and determination, eventually emerging as the Champions. We are also pleased to highlight that our debater, Aliqa Aurelia, was named Best Debater of the tournament, a recognition of her talent and dedication. This success is a result of the hard work, teamwork and perseverance of everyone involved. Congratulations to the YSISSPJ debate team on this remarkable achievement!![]()
